The UAE has been ranked as the second safest country in the world for 2025, according to a recent survey.

Data from Numbeo, a crowd-sourced online database, reveals that the UAE, home to over 200 nationalities, scored an impressive 84.5 points on the Safety Index. Known for its high quality of living, the UAE continues to shine as a global leader in safety and security.

Andorra, a small country nestled between France and Spain, topped the list with 84.7 points, just slightly ahead of the UAE by two decimal points.

Countries from the Gulf have outpaced both the USA and the UK, with Qatar ranking third at 84.2 points, and Oman rounding out the top five with 81.7 points.

Saudi Arabia ranked 14th with 76.1 points, while Bahrain followed closely behind in 16th place with 75.5 points. Kuwait ranked 38th with 67.2 points.

Countries such as Pakistan (65th), India (66th), and the Philippines (63rd) also feature on the list, with the UK ranking 87th and the United States at 89th, respectively.

In addition to this safety ranking, the UAE has risen to 21st place in the 2025 World Happiness Index, surpassing countries like the UK, US, Germany, France, Singapore, and all Arab nations.

In 2020, the UAE made history by being the only country in the world with three cities—Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah—ranked among the world’s top 10 safest cities, according to the global crime index. Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah secured second, sixth, and seventh positions, respectively, in a survey of nearly 400 cities worldwide.

The UAE also ranked third on the list of the world’s safest nations and placed 24th on the quality of life index.

Meanwhile, Dubai has become the fourth most popular food destination globally on social media, surpassing cities like Sydney, Chicago, and Paris, according to a new survey by an international travel agency.
