The Safari Dubai Park project is 30% complete

Dubai: Dubai Safari, the long-awaited upcoming zoo park, is 30 per cent complete and expected to open in the third quarter of 2016, an official said on Saturday.

Hussain Lootah, Dubai Municipality Director-General, said on Saturday that the massive Dh1 billion project will cover 119 hectares of land.

Dubai Safari, coming up in Al Warqa’a area, will replace the existing decades-old Dubai Zoo.

In the first quarter of 2015, a total of 5,521,110 passengers used Abu Dhabi International Airport, compared with 4,560,169 passengers in Q1 of 2014.

Abu Dhabi to invest over $25 billion in offshore oilfields

Abu Dhabi — Abu Dhabi plans to invest over $25 billion in the next five years on boosting its oil production capacity from offshore fields, a senior official of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, or Adnoc, said on Tuesday.

The plan is part of the UAE’s strategy of increasing its crude oil output potential to 3.5 million barrels per day by 2017-18. The UAE’s actual current production is around 2.8 million bpd.
