For the second consecutive edition of Arab Fashion Week, Huawei and the Arab Fashion Council brought together the region’s leading designers, professionals, movers and shakers of the fashion industry for a four-day fashion extravaganza at the opulent St. Regis Hotel in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. From the 16th – 19th of March, Arab Fashion Week hosted designers from all around the world, showcasing their Fall-Winter 2016/2017 Ready-Couture collections.
The regions renowned designers including Dani Atrache, Hamda Al Fahim, Jamal Taslaq and Rani Zakhem showcased their collections to an audience of guests, media and VIP attendees. International talent such as Laura Mancini, Cristiano Burani and Alberto Zambelli featured their latest designs for the first time here in the region.
Renowned Lebanese Singer-song writer Nancy Ajram inaugurated Arab Fashion Week on the March 16th. She walked the red carpet and attended a special edition of the ‘Huawei Show’ where Italian Designer Laura Mancini presented her Ready-Couture collection. Ajram’s, who made her first appearance at an international event for Huawei, was sporting the highly anticipated Huawei Lady Watch Jewel.
Nancy was wearing the Jewel Edition featuring Swarovski Zirconias bordering the 1.4-inch sized sapphire crystal screen. With premium 18mm wide Italian leather watch straps and rose gold-plated stainless steel case, the Huawei Watch Jewel made its first ever global appearance at Arab Fashion Week. This is a testament to the strong union between fashion and technology and reflects the regions importance as a creative hub for the world.
On Friday March 18th, the Arab Fashion Council and Huawei co-hosted a gala dinner for designers, partners, VIP guests and media. Huawei picked up the award for ‘Fashion-ology’, the brand that best showcased how technology, art and style are integrated.
Mr. Jiao Jian, President of Huawei Consumer Business Group in the Middle East spoke of Huawei’s sponsorship saying, “We are very proud to have presented Arab Fashion Week for the second consecutive edition with the Arab Fashion Council. Over the past four days we have seen exceptional, cutting edge designs and handcrafted creations. This year the Arab Fashion Council introduced the Kidswear collections with renowned Italian brands such as Miss Grant Pink Pallino and Miss BluMarine showcasing their collections. Going further, the Arab Fashion Council and Huawei will work together to redesign the retail structure in order to better understand the market’s expectations and support buyers in the region.
