New fee will apply to transiting and departing passengers at Sharjah International Airport
The Sharjah Executive Council has approved a Dh35 departure fee for passengers at Sharjah International Airport, state news agency WAM reported on Tuesday.
The decision was approved by the Sharjah Executive Council in a meeting on Tuesday chaired by Shaikh Abdulla Bin Salem Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the council, according to WAM.
The Dh35 fee will apply to transiting and departing passengers at Sharjah International Airport except those under two years of age and airline crew.
The report did not say when the charge would be implemented or how it would be collected. Sharjah International Airport is the headquarters of Air Arabia.
Last week, Dubai approved a new Dh35 charge on passengers departing its airports Dubai International and Al Maktoum International at Dubai World Central.
