Dubai will now offer India-made AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccines.

The jab has been added to the Dubai Health Authority's authorised list of Covid-19 vaccines offered at its medical facilities.

"The first shipment of the vaccine has been received from India, thanks to efforts by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in cooperation with the Indian Foreign Ministry," the Government of Dubai Media Office tweeted.

Dubai issues new Covid-19 rules for travel, malls, and hospitals

Authorities in Dubai have issued multiple measures to boost Covid-19 safety in the emirate. The new rules range from closing down pubs and bars to ramping up PCR testing for passengers; cracking down on private parties and events; and streamlining healthcare resources.

The measures came as daily Covid safety inspection reports showed a marked increase in the number of violations of precautionary rules.
