Mall of the Emirates hosts debut of the Cannes International Fashion Photography Exhibition in partnership with Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment on Jan 7-14

Majid Al Futtaim, the leading shopping mall, retail and leisure pioneer across the Middle East and North Africa, has broadened its long-established relationship with Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment by hosting the International Fashion Photography Exhibition at Mall of the Emirates.  The public gallery that had made the city of Cannes picture perfect for the past 12 years will be brought to Dubai for the first time.  Running from January 7-14, the exhibition will display a selection of contemporary photography taken by influential fashion photographers from all over the world.

Complementing the fashion displays in the mall, a total of 50 large format prints will be placed at the Central Galleria and are free to view by the public.  The photographs were selected from the International Festival of Fashion Photography 2014, which transforms the city of Cannes into an open-air gallery every year.  The exhibition continues indoors and moves to different places to provide visibility to wider audience.  This is the first time the exhibition is coming to the Middle East.

“With the full roster of world-class art events in Dubai throughout the year, the city has emerged as a global cultural hub,” said Hussain Moosa, Associate Director, Shopping Malls at Majid Al Futtaim Properties. “Majid Al Futtaim is committed to fostering Dubai’s thriving art and culture.”

“It gives us pride and honour to become a platform in introducing the International Festival of Fashion Photography and host the first Middle East edition at Mall of the Emirates.  I would like to thank the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment for bringing such prestigious exhibition to the people of Dubai.  The initiative, in line with our brand vision to create great moments for everyone, every day, gives us opportunity to influence budding artists to develop their skills in photography,” Moosa added.
