The official inauguration of Watches and Wonders Geneva 2025 took place on April 1st at Palexpo-Geneva, with the presence of Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin, along with representatives from the economic and political authorities of the City and Canton of Geneva, as well as the CEOs of the 60 exhibiting brands.<\/p>\n

The ceremony began with a speech by Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin, head of the Department of Economic Affairs, Education, and Research (EAER). He stated, \u201cDual training is a key component of Switzerland\u2019s competitiveness. It directly benefits the watchmaking industry, which combines tradition with a spirit of innovation.\u201d He further emphasized, \u201cSwitzerland must continuously evolve its professional training system to remain a hub of innovation and a dynamic economy.\u201d<\/p>\n
Cyrille Vigneron, President of the Watches and Wonders Geneva Foundation, remarked, «Together with my colleagues at the Watches and Wonders Foundation, we believe our passion for the extraordinary should be shared as widely as possible. This event is a perfect reflection of that passion, showcasing the vibrant, living tradition of watchmaking.»<\/p>\n
The inauguration also featured artwork by St\u00e9phane Galienni, co-founder of Balistik Art, highlighting how artificial intelligence contributes to art and culture. The ceremony concluded with a ribbon-cutting event, attended by the official authorities and the CEOs of the 60 exhibiting brands.<\/p>\n
