The fourth year in running, Intravel Stoleshniki, Emirates Airlines and Royal Park Tourism Services LLC together, under the patronage of DTCM successfully hosted “Dubai – The Year Round Destination – Events Tourism” conference at Habtoor Grand Resort today. The conference was hosted by the Habtoor Grand Resort.

The conference was opened by Mr. Evegeny Yuriev, Intravel Stoleshniki, followed by Mr. Ali Abdul Wahab, DTCM – Head of Region, East & West Europe and Mr. M.C. Mani, President Royal Park Tourism Services LLC. In attendance were key tourism professionals from Russia and some of the leading hoteliers of Dubai.

The conference’s main aim was to promote Dubai as a year round destination for tourists coming from Russian speaking countries. The focus this year was on Events Tourism and how to create events to attract more number of tourists from Russia and to highlight existing events to the Russian Travel Trade.

The participants were given a presentation on upcoming hotel projects on the Palm Jumeirah and Dubai Beach front by the Movenpick Group, the Kempinski Hotels and the Rotana group. The face to face dialogue between the Russian participants and Industry professionals was highly interactive and answered a varied range of queries of the participants. Discussions ranged from suggestions of having cultural festivities to attract the youth to Dubai to offering a different variety of races such as camel and boat race to give a unique experience at Dubai. The participants welcomed the efforts of DTCM along with Emirates Airlines in positioning the Kids Go Free promotion and were confident of its success.

Royal Park Tourism presented an Events Planner elaborating on major events to happen in the coming months and years.

DTCM’s report on outbound tourism from Russia and Emirates Airlines detailed report on its flights between Dubai and Moscow gave an overview of the number of tourists travelling from Russia.

The conference ended on the positive note ensuring that Dubai will be promoted as a destination especially for the summer period in Russia because of the variety of attractive Kids Go Free promotion being conducted by Emirates Airlines and hotels in Dubai.
