Dubai Airshow 2025 Takes Off: The Future is Here

Dubai is buzzing as the 19th edition of the Dubai Airshow kicks off today (November 17–21) at Dubai World Central (DWC) under the theme “The Future Is Here.”

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, attended the opening, highlighting the UAE’s commitment to aerospace and innovation.

This year’s show is the largest in its history, featuring over 1,500 exhibitors, 148,000 visitors, and 490 military and civilian delegations from 115 countries.

Unprecedented Scale and Innovation

More than 200 aircraft are on display, ranging from commercial and military planes to UAVs and eVTOLs.

Highlights include:

eVTOL aircraft: For the first time, electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft, including Joby Aviation’s model, are part of the show.

Space Pavilion: Expanded in partnership with the UAE Space Agency, the pavilion brings together space-tech companies, startups, investors, and agencies to explore the future of space.

New Experiences Beyond the Runway

Dubai Airshow 2025 introduces a range of immersive experiences:

Airshow After Dark: On Tuesday, the show stays open late with drone performances, networking, and entertainment under the stars.

Party on the Runway: Skydive Dubai hosts an evening event combining aerial entertainment, DJs, and relaxed networking.

Runway Run: A 5K run along the runway, organized with Dubai’s Department of Economy & Tourism.

Wellness Zone: Dedicated to the health and wellbeing of aerospace professionals, featuring mindfulness sessions, health talks, and massages.

Spotlight on Sustainability and Innovation

Sustainability is a core focus of this year’s event, including live demonstrations of green aviation technologies and fully sustainable airport turnarounds.

Additional initiatives include:

NextGen Leaders programme and Academy: Nurturing the next generation of aerospace professionals.

AI-driven matchmaking: The event app helps delegates find business partners and collaborate more effectively.

Aerospace Executive Club: Bringing together top CEOs to discuss the future of aviation, defence, and space.

Emirates’ Vision for the Future

Emirates is showcasing AI-powered customer experiences, including biometric identity verification and real-time service using smart cameras and IoT. The airline also highlights sustainable lifestyle products, from onboard blankets made from recycled materials to travel gear crafted from repurposed aircraft parts.

The opening reflects the UAE’s growing position as a global hub for aviation and space. The scale and ambition of Dubai Airshow 2025 spanning commercial aviation, defence, and space — underscore Dubai’s role as a forward-looking leader on the international stage.
