President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Saudi Minister of Defence, on Wednesday at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi.
Prince Khalid conveyed greetings from King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, along with their best wishes for the UAE’s continued prosperity. Sheikh Mohamed reciprocated the sentiments, expressing hope for Saudi Arabia’s continued growth and wellbeing.
The leaders discussed bilateral ties, opportunities for enhanced cooperation, and exchanged views on regional and international developments, particularly in the Middle East.
Earlier, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, led the UAE delegation to the Gulf-US Summit in Riyadh. The summit, attended by GCC leaders and US President Donald Trump, focused on strengthening regional cooperation and advancing shared strategic interests.
Sheikh Khaled thanked King Salman for hosting the summit and stressed the importance of enhancing political, economic, and security collaboration between the GCC and the US. He praised efforts to mediate global conflicts and welcomed recent diplomatic progress, including US-Iran dialogue and ceasefire negotiations in Gaza.
He reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to diplomacy, regional stability, and support for a two-state solution with an independent Palestinian state based on 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
