Following temporary remote work policies introduced amid regional tensions, companies across the UAE are gradually resuming full on-site operations while continuing to prioritise employee safety in line with guidance issued by the authorities. Businesses say they remain committed to maintaining flexible working arrangements where possible, allowing staff to work from home while ensuring operational continuity.

While many organisations are returning to offices, project sites and campuses, several companies say hybrid or remote work options remain available for roles where this is feasible. Business leaders note that the approach reflects both precautionary measures and a broader effort to support employee well-being while maintaining stable operations during a period of heightened regional uncertainty.

Dubai-listed Alec Holdings said it had earlier implemented a temporary work-from-home policy to ensure the safety of its workforce but has now resumed on-site and office operations across its UAE activities as part of a gradual return to full-scale operations.

“Our priority has always been the safety and security of our workforce,” said Barry Lewis, chief executive of Alec Holdings. He added that the company remains focused on transparency and close cooperation with clients and partners to ensure safe operations across all sites and offices.

Maintaining flexibility

At Danube Group, operations are continuing as normal, with teams working from offices and project sites, according to vice-chairman Anis Sajan. However, the company is maintaining a flexible approach, allowing employees to work remotely where their roles permit.

“Our priority is to ensure business continuity while also supporting the well-being and comfort of our workforce,” Sajan said, adding that managers have been given discretion to decide what works best for their teams.

He noted that daily life in the UAE has largely returned to normal, with businesses operating, transportation functioning smoothly and economic activity continuing across the country. Strong government response and clear communication have reinforced confidence among residents and businesses, he said.

Sajan also pointed to the country’s resilience in overcoming previous global challenges from economic downturns to the pandemic and severe weather events which continues to support business confidence in the UAE.

Operations remain fully functional

Abu Dhabi-based Mair Group, a strategic investment firm focused on grocery retail and commercial real estate, said its operations remain unaffected despite regional geopolitical developments.

In a statement, the company said it maintains sufficient liquidity and cash flow to support ongoing activities and confirmed continued access to funding if required.

“Our operations remain fully functional, supported by established governance, risk management and business continuity frameworks,” the company said, adding that employee safety remains a key priority.

United Arab Bank also confirmed that its services are operating normally without any material disruption.

“Customer services continue to be delivered without interruption across all channels,” the bank said, adding that it remains confident in the resilience of the UAE’s banking sector and financial system.

Education provider Taaleem Holdings said it has ensured the uninterrupted delivery of education across its schools during the current regional developments. The group has temporarily shifted to online learning while remaining ready to resume on-campus classes once guidance is issued by regulators. Teachers continue to engage closely with students and parents to maintain a seamless learning experience, the company said.
