After Milan, Dubai will host the next World Expo in 2020

Dubai: Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, and Chairman of the Dubai Expo 2020 Higher Preparatory Committee attended the closing ceremony of Expo Milano 2015.
Shaikh Ahmad was joined by Reem Al Hashemi, UAE Minister of State, Board Representative of the Dubai Expo 2020 Higher Preparatory Committee and Director General, Dubai Expo 2020 Bureau, as well as Italian officials and Expo Milano 2015 organisers, according to a statement on Sunday.
After Milan, Dubai will host the next World Expo. The Expo 2020 will open on October 20, 2020, and is expected to attract 25 million visitors during the six-month period.
“It has been a pleasure for our nation to take part in this Expo, providing us with valuable insights as we prepare to host the next World Expo, in 2020… We are ready to take on the responsibility of hosting the next world Expo in Dubai and eagerly await our formal appointment as Host City next month,” said Shaikh Ahmad.
The UAE participated at Expo Milano this year. Over 1.1 million visitors visited the UAE pavilion, which will now move to Masdar City in Abu Dhabi.
