Authorities in Dubai have issued an urgent weather warning as heavy rain and unstable conditions are expected to impact the emirate throughout the week.
According to the National Centre of Meteorology, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, thunder, and possible hail are forecast between Monday, March 23, and Friday, March 27. The weather system is expected to bring intermittent rainfall of varying intensity, along with strong winds reaching speeds of up to 50 km/h.
In response, both the Dubai Government and Dubai Police have urged residents and visitors to exercise heightened caution and adhere strictly to safety guidelines.
Officials emphasized that rainy conditions can significantly increase risks, particularly on the roads. Drivers are advised to remain vigilant, anticipate potential mistakes by other motorists, and follow all official driving regulations issued in the emirate.
Authorities have also issued a series of safety recommendations to minimize risks during the unstable weather period. Residents and visitors are strongly advised to avoid valleys, flood-prone zones, and low-lying areas where rainwater may accumulate. Mountainous regions should also be avoided due to the sudden runoff and landslides.
Additionally, going out to sea is discouraged amid rough conditions, while motorists are urged to reduce speed and maintain safe distances. Officials stressed the importance of staying informed through verified government channels for real-time updates and instructions.
The warning comes as part of ongoing efforts to ensure public safety during periods of severe weather, with authorities closely monitoring developments and ready to respond to emergencies if necessary.
