Festival shoppers can look forward to unbeatable offers

Tech savvy visitors to the Dubai Shopping Festival 2016 will be able to find a number of amazing offers and activations on the very latest gadgets and electronics during the festival. DSF inspires exceptional promotions and activations across Dubai’s retail pillars, especially in consumer electronics, which experiences major sales growth during the annual event.

Organised by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), the 32-day festival offers an outstanding opportunity for local residents and tourists to find great deals on the latest TVs, smartphones and tablets. For the 2016 edition regional retailers have been working closely with DFRE to create innovative ideas that give shoppers an enhanced retail experience.

Nadeem Khanzadah, Head of Omnichannel Retail at Jumbo Group, who are a longstanding key sponsor of DSF, said. “The Dubai Shopping Festival is an integral part of the retail calendar in the UAE – a festival widely anticipated by residents and tourists alike. The long running success and popularity of the festival ensures that retailers across the sector, including Jumbo, are able to engage with customers from Dubai, the rest of the Emirates, regionally and on a global scale.

“Typically, Jumbo has witnessed a year-on-year increase in sales during DSF – earlier this year, we experienced a 15 per cent growth in just the first two weeks of the festival. Approximately 15 per cent of our annual sales revenue comes from the month-long DSF event.”

The growth in sales during DSF is a positive that Heston Saldanha, Consumer Channel Manager, Sennheiser Middle East, has also highlighted. “We look forward to DSF 2016 as we have a number of great offers in store with Sharaf DG, Jumbo Electronics and Emax. We anticipate around a 15% to 20% increase in sales during DSF, as it is an important period for us.”

According to Heston Saldanha the beginning of the year also represents an excellent   time to showcase new products as well. “We are excited to use DSF as a platform to showcase our wider range of headphones and headsets – from light sporty models to headphones with an audiophile level of sound sophistication.”

Sennheiser has in-store stores concepts and displays and sees increases every year during Dubai Shopping Festival, especially when they work closely with their distributors.

Emax is another company that is looking to offer a different experience during the Dubai Shopping Festival. Neelesh Bhatnagar, CEO of Emax said: "Over the years, Emax has carved itself a niche for developing unique offerings that bring real value to consumers. This DSF too, we will focus on incentivising consumers with crazy deals across all product categories."

“The Dubai Shopping Festival is one of the most awaited events in the UAE's retail industry calendar and we are keenly looking forward to the 2016 edition of this event", said Bhatnagar. "The festival has enhanced its global appeal and we expect it to further drive sales post a successful fourth quarter."

Electronics retailers across Dubai will be anticipating a big surge in footfall during Dubai Shopping Festival – which will take place from 1st January until the 1st February 2016 under the tagline “Unwrap The Exceptional” – by working closely with organisers to enhance the shopping experience and continue to showcase Dubai as a major international retail hub.
