High-level talks were held at the Kremlin between President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and President of the United Arab Emirates Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who arrived in Russia on an official visit. The meeting once again confirmed the high level of bilateral relations and the strategic partnership between the two countries.
The talks began in an expanded format with the participation of members of the official delegations of Russia and the UAE. The two leaders then continued their discussions one-on-one during an official breakfast. The agenda included key areas of multifaceted Russian–Emirati cooperation, as well as pressing international and regional issues, including the situation in the Middle East.

Prior to the talks, a formal welcoming ceremony for the President of the UAE was held in the St. George’s Hall of the Grand Kremlin Palace. The ceremony included the presentation of the members of the Russian and Emirati delegations, an official photo opportunity, and the performance of the national anthems of both countries.

Speaking at the opening of the talks, the President of the UAE noted that 2026 marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and the United Arab Emirates. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan emphasized President Vladimir Putin’s significant personal contribution to the development of the strategic partnership, highlighting its multifaceted, mutually beneficial nature and dynamic growth. He pointed to the established political dialogue at the level of governments, parliaments, and business communities, as well as effective cooperation within multilateral formats, including the United Nations.

President Vladimir Putin, in turn, stressed that the UAE is one of Russia’s key trading partners in the Arab world. He noted steady growth in bilateral trade, the active work of the intergovernmental commission, and the holding of the first Russia–UAE Business Forum. According to the Russian President, investment cooperation remains at a high level, with the Russian Direct Investment Fund and Mubadala having implemented more than 60 joint projects.
Special attention was paid to cooperation in technology, industry, and energy, as well as to humanitarian ties. Vladimir Putin highlighted the growing number of Russian tourists visiting the UAE, the development of educational and scientific programs, and the successful hosting in Abu Dhabi of the international multi-sport tournament “Games of the Future.”
The leaders also discussed international issues, including the situation around Ukraine, the Israeli–Palestinian conflict, and developments related to Iran. President Putin expressed appreciation to the Emirati side for its assistance on humanitarian matters and for facilitating dialogue and negotiation contacts.

In conclusion, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the strategic partnership and expanding cooperation in the interests of both countries and international stability.
