Jannah Burj Al Sarab, received the Gold Standard of the Welcome Chinese Certification, a hospitality standard aimed at making Chinese guests feel at home.
Abu Dhabi, 31 August 2015: Jannah Burj Al Sarab, the newest five-star addition to Jannah Hotels & Resorts portfolio in Abu Dhabi, today announced that it received the Gold Standard of the Welcome Chinese Certification.
Established in 2013, the hospitality standard is developed by Italian marketing and communications firm Select Holding Ltd together with the China Tourism Academy (CTA), and is intended to make Chinese tourists feel welcome overseas.
In order to maintain the Gold level of the hospitality standard, Jannah Burj Al Sarab has to provide a range of services aimed at its Chinese guests. These include broadcasting Mandarin television channels, a kettle and tea set in the room, and acceptance of China UnionPay (China’s only domestic bank card organisation).
Additionally, the hotel must have a Mandarin-speaking staff member, a selection of traditional Chinese food for breakfast, and a welcome kit in Mandarin. The kit should also include information about Jannah Burj Al Sarab and a list of tourist attractions in Abu Dhabi.
“We are proud that Jannah Burj Al Sarab has received the Gold Standard of the Welcome Chinese Certification,” commented Richard Haddad, Vice President Operations – Abu Dhabi, at the celebratory function held at the hotel on August 30.
“Our multi-level service standard covers all of the facilities required to enhance the experience of our Chinese guests, so that they feel at home during their stay at Jannah Burj Al Sarab,” he added.
Abu Dhabi is the first market in the Middle East and Africa region to participate in the Welcome Chinese programme. This is organised in line with the annual Chinese Visitor Summit, recently renamed ‘Meet China’, to be held in the capital from August 31 until September 1. Backed by Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority, the fourth edition of the forum attracts representatives from the region’s hotels, travel agencies, tour operators, airlines and leisure and entertainment venues.
Jannah Burj Al Sarab, Jannah’s fifth hotel in the UAE, has strategic access to Al Maryah Island, Reem Island and Saadiyat Island, and caters to business travellers and those eager to explore the capital city. The hotel is in a soft opening phase, and is due to open officially in September.
