Pre-fall 2015 runways unleashed bags-to-grab right from structured and boxy totes to roomy backpacks, furry and fringed beauties to flowery and sparkly creations
A woman’s handbag is her very own treasure trove housing in its secret chambers anything from house keys, jewels, compacts, lip sticks, ID’s, credit cards, half eaten sandwiches, toffees (and according to one lady I knew, even a hammer).
And while it may be a chore to transfer all those items (some of which you thought you had lost) into that new and shiny bag you just bought, that’s the least of your worries. It’s deciding which bag to grab at that swanky outlet and which to let go.
But first things first. Let’s describe the line-up…
Marc by Marc Jacobs dangles an olive green, boxy number with rivets galore. Flaunting a small handle you’ll prize this nugget for years to come. Kenzo has a cute and golden, squarish box with well rounded corners perfect to sling on to at festive occasions.
Hermes on the other hand seems to have been inspired by the traditional, Indian lunch box and paid tribute to it with gold studs and is designed to securely keep everything your desires.
Luscious as a sorbet and decked with pretty blooms, Chanel’s bag will leave you pining for its coveted presence on your shoulders. Alexander McQueen continues its fascination with black and silver with an attractive clutch that will stop you in your tracks. DSquared2 meanwhile pays ode to the fringe trend with its shiny black number. From its base a graceful bead curtain featuring roses falls away a la Spanish.
One of the cutest ‘actors’ in the Oscar-winning French silent film ‘The Artist’ is Uggie the protagonist’s pet dog who recently passed away. Jimmy Choo features the star in a very cute creation while Moschino urges us to just ‘Grin and bear it’.
But that’s just for now folks the future is still bright we promise you.
