Dubai-based holding company Meraas, is to launch a tropical forest bio-dome with over 3,000 plants and animals

The attraction, located at City Walk, will feature the largest indoor man-made and life-sustaining tree in the world at 25m, Meraas said.

Dubbed the Green Planet, the four-level attraction will include a green canopy covering lush tropical vegetation with exhibitions and displays. It will host guided tours for school groups with include multi-purpose classroom facilities.

Two treehouses, a flooded forest tunnel, a forest cascade trail, waterfall pool and a number of balconies will be among the development’s highlights.

The bio-dome is designed to attract resident and tourists and will open in the first half of 2016

It follows the 360-degree-screen educational experience launched by the developer in September last year called The Dome Box.
