Eid al-Fitr predicted to fall on Friday, July 17

Sharjah: The start of the holy month of Ramadan for the Hijri year 1436 is likely to fall on Thursday, 18th June, 2015, according to astronomical calculations of the Sharjah Planetarium (SP).
The official agency WAM reported that Ibrahim Al Jarwan, General-Supervisor at the SP, predicted that Eid al-Fitr would be on Friday, July 17 (the first of Shawwal).
Long fasting hours
''The daylight hours at the beginning of the month of Ramadan will be 13 hours and 45 minutes while the fasting period will be as long as 15 hours and 15 minutes," he said.
Towards the end of the holy month of Ramadan, daylight hours will be 13 hours and 35 minutes, and the fasting period will be 15 hours and 5 minutes,'' Al Jarwan said.
Al Jarwan said the maximum and minimum temperatures during the months of June and July will range between 41 C in the day and 26 C at night and average humidity will be between 82 and 34 percent.
