The Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, DTCM, Dubai, the organiser of the 14th Dubai Ramadan Forum, held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, has once more launched its Mass Iftar Tents.
Every year, the Organising Committee of the Dubai Ramadan Forum hosts mass Iftar events during the month of Ramadan. The Iftar gathering is attended daily by approximately 4,500 persons from different nationalities and is hosted at specially erected tents. The first tent in the Muhaisnah area 2, adjacent to labour camps, can host up to 2,500 persons a day while the second is located in the Hor Al Anz area, accommodating about 2,000 people a day. Meals are served, in addition to water, Laban, fruit and dates.
The event aims to strengthen the feeling of goodwill and unity among Muslims and spread the spirit of sharing and togetherness among people of different nationalities who gather in the tents.
Every day, prior to Iftar, religious and educational lectures will be held in different languages with a view to raising awareness among the audience about the meaning and significance of Ramadan. On the sidelines of the event, raffle draws will be held and prizes will be awarded to winners, and a medical team comprising qualified doctors will conduct free checkups for the benefit of the attendees and provide medical advice and guidance to raise their awareness and help them maintain good health during and after the Holy Month of Ramadan.
The Dubai Ramadan Forum, in its 14th edition this year, also features a series of lectures from June 24th to July 4th, and includes many other social, religious, charitable and volunteer activities, some of which are being held this year for the first time, such as the Exhibition on the History and Art of Arabic Calligraphy, in which Emirati, Arab and non-Arab calligraphers are taking part.
