It’s got the shine, that luxe look and the style. So what’s not to love about Aigner’s autumn / winter collection? Titled as Genesis, it celebrates the brand’s DNA and flaunts that element that says joie de vivre. It is dedicated to the founder of the brand, Etiienne Aigner and his native country Hungary, its people, landscapes, and even its traditional garments. And so we have a very pretty, attractive dress in an intense blend of brown and maroon, with intricate floral cut-out patterns near the neckline and the double-layered skirt whose lower layer trails away at the back. It is matched by a pair of looong gloves with cut-out designs all over. Just pull on a pair of boots accented by fur and you’re all set for the evening.
Karl Lagerfeld’s muse for Fendi is the 20’s Swiss geometric abstract artist, painter, artist, sculptor and dancer Sophie Taeuber-Arp’s works. If you were to see her art you would agree it’s not easy to translate it into fashion. But if anyone could have done it, only a maestro of his status could have pulled it off. And Lagerfeld focuses on the silhouette to present creations where double-layered pencil skirts feature rigid leather panels cut either in squares or as rectangles. The top meanwhile has a polo neck top over which a sleeveless leather top, composed of square panels is worn.
A blend of 50’s and 60’s styles is the inspiration for Versace’s collection where sensual black is accented by vivid hues. And the muse being a sexy, energetic woman with a sense of humour and her eyes set bravely to the future it’s perfectly captured in its bold, black and ravishing, full-sleeved leather dress with eye-popping green at the neckline which spells out the famed brand’s name across the chest in all caps (nothing less) once again in green and also has a ‘V’ in green near the waist clinched by a smart belt, this time in black (thankfully).
