Gucci SS16 Ready-To-Wear

Tenderness is the key word to interpret this Gucci collection. Alessandro Michele continues the narration he started last January and confirms his talent in interpreting today’s aesthetics and tastes. Under the pouring rain in a new venue, an old tram depot in Milan’s  outskirts, another chapter of the Gucci story is being written. La dérive, that is, losing oneself, is only the beginning of a narration that sums up all that Michele has done so far: an exploration made of vital traces, emotional tones and clues that rest on the garments, almost like an atlas of emotions where every object becomes a treasure chest of aesthetic references and the entire collection is like a Wunderkammer of contemporary times. Ladylike suits alternate with gypsy-style long floral dresses, wallpaper print mannish pantsuits, mini tunics with trompe l’oeil embroidery,  blouses with maxi bows and studded biker jackets. And the accessories at Gucci become true cult pieces: the sky high T-bar shoes, the double G loafers, the bejeweled slippers, the vintage feel handbags. Objects that tell a story between past and future, between old and new, perfection and imperfection, in the name of a contemporary elegance and a style that is already deep-rooted and recognizable.
