Baume & Mercier launches Petite Promesse at 8th Fashion Forward Dubai!

An icon that celebrates special moments, Baume & Mercier added a fashionable touch to the launch of the Petite Promesse collection as celebratory sponsor of the latest edition of Fashion Forward Dubai. Fashion Forward Dubai (FFWD) is the definitive regional fashion platform, and took place between the 21^st and 23^rd of October, 2016 at Dubai Design District (d3). Marking its eighth season, Fashion Forward Dubai showcased a carefully edited selection of the Middle East’s most coveted ready-to-wear, couture, accessory and jewellery designers.

As part of the collaboration with FFWD, Baume & Mercier partnered with three of the region’s top fashion stylists, Teresa Karpinska, Samantha Francis and Salma Awwad, to create a photo shoot featuring FFWD apparel designers that was inspired by Petite Promesse, a new women’s collection officially launched at the regional fashion event. The series of images were based on the characters represented by each watch: the playful, the mischievous and the powerful. The gallery of images were revealed to the FFWD guests at the Baume & Mercier showcase during their opening cocktail on Friday 21^st.

In addition, the three stylists also hosted a set of workshops at The Showcase targeting diverse fashion related topics; Samantha Francis’ workshop was held on the 21^st of October and focused on The Science of color, Teresa Karpinska hosted hers on the 22^nd of October and spoke about The art of high low dressing and Salma Awwad’s workshop on the 23^rd of October was a guide to taking your personal style to another level.  A further highlight of the event was the exclusive and interactive talk by Baume & Mercier’s Design Director, Alexandre Peraldi, which was moderated by prominent Dubai based social figure Rosemin Manji. Alexandre has led a team of designers in creating timepieces that are both iconic and innovative; a good example of the team’s innovation being the new collection launched at FFWD. His talk explored, from a designer’s perspective, how and where inspiration can be found, and if and when you need to draw a line on creativity.
