The Boardwalk at Palm Jumeirah

The Palm Jumeirah Boardwalk, built over the rocks of the Palm's breakwater is six metres wide and stretches along the coast for 11 kilometres, from Rixos hotel on the crescent's east side to the One&Only The Palm on the west. The boardwalk features not only beautiful views of the Arabian Gulf as well as Dubai's skylines, but is also home to refreshment and souvenir concessions, including a line-up of food trucks. Future developments include various retail promenades and east and west piers, each stretching 100 metres out to sea and boasting glass-encased cafes and restaurants to enjoy the views of the Arabian Gulf and Dubai skyline.

Covering the entire 11km length of Palm Jumeirah’s protective crescent, the AED150 million Boardwalk will be home to around 20 food trucks – serving everything from fish and chips to falafel, and spaghetti to shawarma – the first of which are already open for business.

A Nakheel spokesman said: “The Boardwalk has transformed Palm Jumeirah’s crescent into a vibrant destination for fitness, leisure, shopping and dining, and is the perfect spot for cycling, jogging or a relaxed waterfront stroll. Our food trucks are the first component of this new attraction, which will be a big draw for residents and tourists on the island, and for the wider Dubai community.”

Accessible from 14 points along the existing sidewalk and on the doorstep of an array of world-famous resorts, The Boardwalk has been created by building over the rocks of the island’s breakwater. At six metres wide, it is more than double the width of the original crescent path.
