Jewels Galore!

Celebrating 100 years of precision and passion, Baselworld hosted its milestone  edition this year from March 23^rd to 30^th at Basel, Switzerland. Marketing Director of Aviamost Fady Boustany was there to witness it all and brings readers a firsthand account.

Diamond jeweler Messika Paris celebrates a decade of its popular Move collection offered now in the XL and the XS versions. Its inspiration for the Swinging Paris necklace is the 1920’s fashion designer Madeleine Vionnet who invented the famous Bias Cut, and features 35.4 cts of diamonds reminding one of champagne bubbles.

Roberto Coin has a unique style of his own and it’s displayed in the new sculpturally facetted Cocktail Maxi ring collection where malachite figures. As each malachite piece has a distinctive band of its own, no two rings will be alike. Adding a tasteful sparkle are two rows of diamonds and a secret ruby, Coin’s signature touch. 

China’s fable of the fire dragon named Orochie revives Spanish jeweler Carrera y Carrera's popular Círculos de Fuego collection to present a mesmerizing range of pendants, bracelets, earrings, wedding bands and rings in white gold with green, yellow, and white diamonds, as well as pieces crafted in yellow gold with yellow sapphires and white diamonds.  The Nankin ring and Shanghai necklace stand out as iconic pieces and best-sellers for the brand.

Deceptively simple designs make Marco Bicego jewels a delight in themselves. The designer takes up the ‘green cause’ so to speak in his Lunaria Unico Jade earrings which flaunt a nonchalant charm of their own.

It took almost two years to source the exceptionally rare, natural pear-cut 74.33 carat and 70.57 carat vivid green Colombian Muzo emeralds. For those seeking an ethical way of life and sustainability, Atelier Swarovski has the perfect solution in the form of its Atelier Swarovski Fine Jewellery collection featuring handcrafted necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings. They are presented in the themes: Art Deco, Mosaic and Concentric and feature crystals as well as Swarovski Created Diamonds which possess the same hardness and brilliance of naturally sourced diamonds, but minus the conflict.    

Korloff comes up with a new diamond cut, the 88-facet cut, the centrepoint of an exceptional collection.
