UAE Minister of Economy Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri met with Belarus Foreign Minister Vladimir Makey to explore ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries in the areas of economy, trade and investment.
During the meeting held at the ministry’s office in Dubai, the two sides discussed prospects for stepping up cooperation between the business communities in the two countries. Al Mansouri offered the visiting minister a brief on the advances in the UAE economy, highlighting its open policies, strategic location and position as a global re-export hub. He pointed out that the enabling incentives provided to investors such as zero taxation and state-of-the-art infrastructure make the UAE an ideal market for Belarusian investments and industries.
Al Mansouri is set to lead a high-level economic and trade delegation to Belarus in December seeking to boost relations and explore available investment and cooperation opportunities.
Makey commended the UAE’s achievements and the important position it holds on the international economic scene. Makey offered an overview of Belarus’ economic reforms and that new opportunities that this had opened up for friendly countries such the UAE.
