Winter wear turned from wild to wow this season as the world’s top fashion brands unfurled a grand array of creations designed to keep you both stylish and snug. We give you a peek of just three diversely innovative styles by way of temptation…

In an ideal world, all things are possible.

For instance, imagine the Grand Palais transformed into a Chanel supermarket one to showcase the famous Parisian brand’s Ready-to-Wear collections by (who else?) Karl Lagerfeld. You get the picture, the lavishness and the detail with everything, (but everything), from door mats, sign posts, hats, chainsaws and paint pots stamped by the brand’s name or logo. Walking among the aisles were models sporting his designs and engaged in shopping. Among which a great combo stands out: a snug dark blue polo sweater studded tastefully with multicolour studs and worn over a high waist, colourful skirt ‘zapped’ by horizontal stripes. For added warmth step into knee-length boots and you’re ready, but not just for your mundane, monthly grocery shopping…

Burberry Prorsum on the other hand teams swirling, light-as-air, silk chiffon creations with chic sheepskin coats or trench coats with lavish collars, hand painted with florals, leaves and abstract patterns in the gentlest of brushstrokes cinched at the waist by a wide belt.  And even if you do appear oh-so-relaxed (and even languid) in a  salmon-pink and nude combination and a pair of pretty ankle boots, they’ll know you mean business when you complete the look with a smart and artistic belt at your waist.

Dolce & Gabbana’s RTW collection meanwhile is inspired by one of the most magical lines of childhood: ‘Once upon a time in Sicily’ offering an equally charming line of creations which showcase the beauty of an enchanted forest. So sprightly foxes, squirrels, owls, gallant knights and Red Riding Hood were out in full force, among which one eye-catching number is a three quarter sleeved, caped (velvetish-suede), below the knee, Jacquard blue coat in A-line cut, highlighted by select members of the forest – red foxes and the prettiest of birds, all of whom are appliqued on to it (in addition to delicate bits of lace). Matched by glittery ballet shoes (with crystals), you can just go twirling away into those still existent, magical woods as you dream up ways to save them (and its precious creatures) from complete extinction…
