President Vladimir Putin marked his 73rd birthday on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, receiving a wave of tributes from Russian officials, political allies, and international leaders.

Celebrations in Russia were largely low-key, in line with the president's traditionally reserved approach to personal milestones. However, senior government figures, including Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, publicly congratulated Putin, praising his decades of leadership and commitment to Russia’s national interests.

“Your dedication to strengthening the state and ensuring the country's sovereignty remains an inspiration for millions,” Volodin said in a statement.

Messages of congratulations also came from several foreign leaders, including heads of state from China, India, and countries across the post-Soviet space. Chinese President Xi Jinping reportedly sent a personal letter praising the “strategic partnership” between Moscow and Beijing, calling Putin “a reliable and visionary leader.”

Putin, who has been at the helm of Russian politics since 1999, remains a dominant figure both domestically and on the global stage. Despite ongoing tensions with Western nations over various geopolitical issues, he retains significant influence across Asia, Africa, and Latin America.

The Kremlin did not release details of how Putin spent his birthday, though in previous years he has marked the occasion privately, sometimes in the Russian wilderness or with close friends and family.

As Russia approaches key elections and continues to navigate international challenges, Putin’s birthday served as a reminder of his enduring role in shaping the country's path forward.
