Islamic New Year on 2nd Oct. is holiday for private sector

WAM -- The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has declared Sunday, October 2nd, 2016, an official paid holiday for all private sector employees in the UAE to celebrate the coming Islamic New Year, Al Hijri 1438.

Saqr bin Ghobash Saeed Ghobash, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, made the announcement following provisions of Article 74 of Federal Law No. 08 of 1980 concerning labour relations and its amendments.

Mr. Ghobash conveyed his sincerest greetings and blessings to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and the Rulers of the Emirates, as well as citizens and residents on this Holy occasion.
