Dubai Design Week, one of the region’s leading design festivals, returns to Dubai Design District (d3) from 3 to 8 November 2026. Held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture, and in strategic partnership with d3, the festival will bring together international brands, regional design studios and creative practitioners, from emerging talents to established names. Its programme will showcase the latest developments in furniture, lighting, materials, textiles, home accessories and collectible design.

Supported by Dubai Culture, the event has become an important meeting point for the creative industry, offering opportunities for networking, knowledge exchange and collaboration between designers, architects, brands and audiences from across the region and beyond.

This year’s edition explores how design can strengthen human connections at a time when the ways we communicate, work and interact with our surroundings are rapidly changing. The multidisciplinary programme will feature exhibitions, installations, commissioned projects, talks and workshops spanning architecture, design, craftsmanship, technology and material experimentation.

One of the key highlights will be Downtown Design, the Middle East’s leading fair for contemporary and high-quality design, taking place from 4 to 8 November. The fair will bring together internationally recognised brands, including Gaggenau, Kohler, Venini and Ethimo, alongside regional studios and emerging designers.

Regional participants include Tanween, the design development programme by Dubai-based Tashkeel; the Athath Fellowship from Abu Dhabi, which will present market-ready furniture prototypes by its 2026 cohort; and Sharjah-based 1971 – Design Space, collaborating with SILA Collective on an interactive spatial experience.

Carpet and textile specialist Iwan Maktabi will present new works by UAE-based designers Nadine Kanso and Omar Al Gurg. Kanso’s designs draw inspiration from Arabic calligraphy and symbols of the UAE, while Al Gurg’s work reflects memories of the traditional majlis. The programme will also feature an exhibition dedicated to the Memphis design movement, a presentation by Buccellati in collaboration with British designer Luke Edward Hall, and the annual Veuve Clicquot Lounge, conceived by British-Nigerian artist and designer Yinka Ilori.

Beyond the fair, Dubai Design Week will transform d3 into a platform for large-scale installations and public projects. Highlights include Three Gardens and a Room by Dubai-based NAO Architects, selected for the 2026 Urban Commissions programme, as well as projects exploring traditional craft, sustainable materials and the relationship between architecture and public space. The festival will also present the UAE Designer Exhibition under the theme Inherited Futures, bringing together local practitioners to consider how cultural heritage, materials and traditional ways of making can inform contemporary design.

The programme extends into workshops, talks and interactive experiences, inviting both industry professionals and the wider public to engage with design through hands-on activities, creative exchange and new perspectives. The weekend Marketplace, taking place on 7 and 8 November, will showcase independent makers, homegrown brands and artisans from the UAE and across the region.

As Dubai continues to strengthen its position as an international hub for design and the creative industries, Dubai Design Week offers a platform for dialogue between global ideas and local perspectives. More than a showcase of new objects and trends, the festival highlights design’s ability to shape the spaces we inhabit, preserve cultural knowledge and create opportunities for meaningful connections. Ultimately, its 2026 theme reflects a simple but powerful idea: design is not only about how the world looks, but also about how people experience it and connect with one another.
