A Shakespearean Twist Harvey Nichols – Dubai SS16 Fashion Show

The Middle East’s premier department store Harvey Nichols – Dubai, this week presented the season’s key fashion trends which are now available in-store. Honouring the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death, Harvey Nichols-Dubai was inspired by his esteemed work, echoing his ethos throughout the event. This season, Harvey Nichols – Dubai took a new and exciting approach to their fashion show, including only luxury fashion looks from the most coveted brands and catered to a more intimate audience.

Based on the Palm Jumeirah at one of Dubai’s most sought after venues, Imperium in the Zabeel Saray, Harvey Nichols – Dubai played host to some of Dubai’s most prestigious and stylish influencers including 200 of our VVIP customers. Whimsical and quintessentially English, the room was transformed into a Shakespearean dream.  Guests were led through a maze of grand chandeliers, sheer drapes on to which poetry was projected and Shakespearean characters before arriving at their seats.

The focal point of the room was the runway adorned with Shakespearean decoration, rose quartz coloured flooring, drapes and grand chandeliers. At the end of the catwalk was a mirror, mirroring the looks as they came down the runway and allowing the guests to be fully immersed in the Shakespearean dream.

Inspired by the runways of New York, London, Milan and Paris, the show was a careful curation of the most coveted brands and pieces, put together to emanate a refined style that has become the signature of Harvey Nichols – Dubai.  The show started with haunting classical music and featured key trends: bold and vibrant prints, lace, fringes and layering, floral silk organza and embellished statement details from brands including Erdem, Peter Pilotto, Chloe, Lanvin, and Dolce & Gabbana.  The time-honoured eveningwear finale was introduced with dramatic flair. Here, Harvey Nichols – Dubai showcased breathtaking formal creations from coveted designer brands such as Oscar de la Renta, Monique Lhullier and Zuhair Murad.
