The exhibition “Perceptions of Dubai” by DXB3 is taking place from January 28 to February 28, 2015 at Sofitel JBR, in partnership with Alliance Française Dubai.

DXB3 is an original initiative founded by Isabelle Viallaneix, artist photographer and Valerie Ward, journalist, to witness the creative essence of a vibrant place and pay tribute to the 200 communities living together. “Perceptions of Dubai” presents the photographer and writer’s encounter with the city by capturing moments, situations and sceneries, people from all walks of life, revealing an uncommon energy.

Appreciate Dubai from a different angle through the images. Learn more about the city through the accompanying text, written in Arabic and English, revealing historical facts as well as an inspiring curiosity.

Did you know there are more than 120 parks in Dubai, representing more than 420 hectares of greenery? Did you know that there are more than 1,900 buildings in the city that stretches over 50 km? Did you know that for 4,000 years the inhabitants of the region fished for a living and dived for pearls; there are no more pearls but the seas of the UAE are home to over 500 species of fish…

The GPS coordinates, under each image, will enable visitors to go back to the places where the images were captured.

The exhibition has an educational kit for a younger audience too. Children will discover the city with a different look through observation and quizzes.
