Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons, the region’s leading retailer of luxury watches and jewellery, is pleased to welcome Rolex to Dubai Watch Week, set to take place from 20 – 24 November 2019. Representing the benchmark for excellence in watchmaking, this is the first time that Rolex will participate at a watchmaking event in the Middle East.

Guests are invited to discover the universe of the Oyster Perpetual Submariner through a unique exhibition. Created in 1953, the iconic Submariner is the archetype of the divers’ watch and epitomizes the historic link between Rolex and the underwater world. The Submariner was the first watch waterproof to a depth of 100 metres, setting the standard for divers’ watches. The interactive exhibition will take guests on a journey through the many innovations that have gone into making this timepiece  a legend of underwater exploration.

A curated collection of rare Rolex watches owned by the Seddiqi family will also be displayed for the first time ever to mark this key milestone for Dubai Watch Week. Extraordinary timepieces will be exhibited, including unique examples of the Cosmograph Daytona, a Rolex watch fashioned from a $20 coin, a rare and elegant Cellini open-face pendant watch, versions of the Day-Date produced for the Sultanate of Oman, and a rare King Midas.

Mohammed Abdulmagied Seddiqi, Chief Commercial Officer of Seddiqi Holding, said: “Rolex is the most recognized brands across the world and is synonomous with excellence in watchmaking. We are honoured to include the brand in the fourth edition of Dubai Watch Week, a global platform dedicated to the preservation of watchmaking culture and heritage. The relationship between the Seddiqi family and Rolex spans over 60 years and is deeply rooted in our innate passion for fine watchmaking.”

As a curator of time and advocate of horology, Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons continues its commitment to the watch industry by investing in initiatives that support the development of the watch sector in the region.
