October is known as the Pink Month in a global effort to raise awareness on breast cancer. It is the most common cancer among women and the second most frequently diagnosed cancer all around the world. According to the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), in UAE alone 4707 new breast cancer cases were detected in 2018.
Al Bustan Centre & Residence, the popular hotel-apartment among tourists and businessmen in the heart of Dubai, recently hosted free zumba and yoga sessions for its employees to highlight the importance of early detection to effectively tackle the disease and to get timely treatment. Dubbed as “Fit and Fight Cancer” the event was spearheaded by our fitness instructor last 19th October 2019 at the Al Nahda Banquet Hall. This fun and purposeful fitness activity that coincides with Dubai Fitness Challenge was well supported by the staff members.
Moussa El Hayek, Chief Operating Officer of Al Bustan Centre and Residence, said, “It is a major concern that the number of breast cancer cases is increasing every year worldwide. Al Bustan Centre & Residence is driven to support the campaign on breast cancer awareness through our fitness programs. We believe that it is important to educate our staff members both male and female about breast cancer including prevention and treatment strategies.”
Al Bustan Centre & Residence is an advocate of healthy lifestyle and fitness. In the past months, various medical and wellness campaigns were organized to help the employees improve their lifestyles.
