Al Maryah Island Celebrates the Holiday Season with Winter Wonderland

A world of entertainment and exciting festive attractions for family and friends awaits guests throughout the month of December on Al Maryah Island, as Abu Dhabi’s business and lifestyle destination transforms into a spectacular Winter Wonderland Al Maryah Island is the place to be this holiday season as Santa’s Grotto welcomes little ones and their families in The Galleria starting 8^th December. Guests can also enjoy roaming performers, marching bands and more until the night skies are lit up with the festival of lights, a snowy winter village, festive activities and live performances stretching across the waterfront promenade starting 15^th December.

Winter Wonderland on Al Maryah Island’s Promenade:

Nestled across the waterfront promenade, cozy winter cottages covered in frosty snowflakes will host festive activities including bauble decorating, cracker making, and gingerbread house making. A skating rink and snow park will keep the whole family entertained for hours on end, while the youngest visitors enjoy train rides around the Promenade. A winter marching band and the much-loved characters from Disney’s Frozen will add to the festive cheer.

During the weekdays and weekends, a full schedule of live performances will keep the whole family entertained with shows like Arctic Cirque, where guests are invited on a magical voyage to the North Pole with amazing circus performances by world-class entertainers; Alice in Winter Wonderland promises an unforgettable journey down a snowy rabbit hole with interactive games; the third show will be none other than the famous old tale The Snowman, a mixture of narration, singing, and dancing by professional performers.

The Galleria on Al Maryah Island:

The Galleria on Al Maryah Island will join in on the holiday fun with a variety of activities set to run from the 8th until the 30^th December. Guests can enjoy roaming performances, including a festive marching band on 22^nd, 23^rd, 29^th and 30^th December, as well as appearances from Santa and his elves. Entertainment shows will add to the excitement, with the iconic Nutcracker promising to offer a glimpse of a magical kingdom every Thursday starting from December 8^th, and Jack Frost guaranteed to spread winter’s chill every Friday starting from December 9^th.

Santa’s Grotto in The Galleria’s Great Room will offer fantastic photo opportunities, while children will also be able to enjoy seasonal arts and crafts, including card making, cracker making, writing letters to Santa and face painting throughout the month.

Festive music and spectacular decorations including colored lights and an enormous LED sculpture of Santa’s Sleigh and his reindeer set on the Promenade will complete the holiday atmosphere. All shows and activities will take place from 3:00 pm – 10:00 pm.
