Gong xi fa cai! LAH LAH, the pan-Asian kitchen and bar at Zabeel House by Jumeirah, The Greens, is gearing up for a home-style Chinese New Year celebration with a special menu crafted by Head Chef Rosnani Hassan.

Available from 25th January until 8th February 2020, the two-course limited-edition menu is priced at AED 119 per person and starts with a basket of Chinese steamed chicken, prawn and vegetable dumplings; Hainanese chicken salad with watercress, pickled chili, ginger dressing; and sliced salmon with cabbage, carrot, sweet wasabi, soy and ginger dressing.

For mains, guests can feast on a steamed whole fish with ginger and leek; Kung Pao chicken with cashew nut, dried chili and Szechuan pepper; longevity noodles with Chinese mushroom, hanna cabbage and sprouts; clams in black bean sauce; and Chinese wok fried vegetable with bok choy, green vegetables, shimeji mushroom and jujube.

Alternatively, a three-course sharing style menu includes expanded dish options and traditional desserts at just AED 139 per person. The three-course menu also includes starters such as Chinese steamed lobster dumplings and BBQ beef buns; sliced salmon and wagyu beef, and prawn toast.

Mains count Chef Rosnani’s favourite Chinese classics such as salt and pepper shrimp with Szechuan salt and grand pepper mix; crispy fried whole chicken; and stir-fried baby bok choy with ginger, kombu soy and fried shallot. Adding a sweet finish to the Chinese New Year celebrations, guests can choose from a selection of desserts to share including sweet rice cake (nian gao), rice balls, fried dough twists and shelled peanuts.
