The historic ocean liner QE2 has been undergoing a major restoration at Port Rashid ahead of her opening as a floating hotel.
And now we've finally got a long-awaited first look inside.
Posts on the @qe2dubai social media channels have revealed one of the renovated rooms on board the famous liner.
According the QE2 Story website, it's an original, first-class room that has not been changed massively since the ship's days on the high seas, although it appears some of the wardrobes have been removed for more space. The rooms became smaller lower down on the ship and it's not clear if they have maintained these or combined several rooms into one.
"Comfortable, refined and replete with the authentic elegance of her former years, the Queen Elizabeth 2 rooms and suites have been thoughtfully restored with all of the modern technological conveniences of today, blended with her maritime interiors." the official Instagram post read.
"Expect dark wood paneling, comfortable bedding, fresh paneling and vintage appliances redefined."
Responses to the new look were positive with many praising the operators for its understated renovation.
Operators of the hotel have not yet announced when the ship will open or how much was spent on the restoration but it's thought the investment is huge.
QE2 made her final voyage back to Port Rashid last Thursday after undergoing ship to hotel conversion work at Dubai Drydocks World.
The operators posted a photograph on Thursday of people holding a "welcome home QE2" sign at the port.
The operators said the Cunard Line's former flagship had undergone "deep cleaning and paint retouch" and was now ready for the final phase of her restoration. Her propellers were removed and new livery - Queen Elizabeth 2 – written in Arabic and English had been affixed to the ship. On the stern, Dubai's distinctive tourism logo can be seen.
There will be 12 venues on board the ship and it's believed final touches are now being made before it opens as a floating hotel, entertainment and heritage centre.
