Freezones vital for attracting FDI

The World Free Zones Organisation (WFZO) has announced the official opening of its inaugural annual conference and exhibition, which focuses on the theme ‘Towards a New Global Trade Order’.

Dubai — The World Free Zones Organisation (WFZO) has announced the official opening of its inaugural annual conference and exhibition, which focuses on the theme ‘Towards a New Global Trade Order’.

Held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the event will take place between May 11-13, 2015.

Dr Mohammed Alzarooni, chairman of WFZO, said: “One of the key objectives of the WFZO is to share success stories and help governments, businesses and multilateral organisations understand the benefits that free zones can bring.”

 Dr Samir Hamrouni, chief executive officer of WFZO, said: “Free zones have come to play an important role in attracting foreign direct investment and enabling companies to assemble goods in various geographical locations with different incentives.”
