June 4 - Art Exhibition Paris Vintage 'Imaginary Extensions' By Didier Naert

Alliance Française Dubai and ANTIDOTE are proud to present French artist Didier Naert latest artworks with the support of Sofitel Dubai Jumeirah Beach.

Didier Naert, movie set designer and artist, works on a very particular medium, the vintage photographic editions. Using that medium, he explores the potential of these old photographies as it combines the film maker’s eye and the imaginary world. Printed on aluminium or black paper board, Naert draws with gouache around the vintage prints giving the compositions a dreamlike aspect, in which the cinematographic framing, a universe familiar to Naert, is incontestably present.

In this first Dubai show, Didier Naert will present his latest artworks of 1961 shots of 'Halles de Paris' and Parisian streets. The cinema enthusiast will spot some images taken for 1963 Billy Wilder movie "Irma La Douce'.

The complete work offers a new vision of the popular Paris of the 50's and 60's, taking the viewers to a curious and nostalgic trip with many surprises.
