Marking its 5th year as one of the top retail destinations in the Middle East, Bloomingdale’s-Dubai went over the top to showcase their latest Spring/Summer 2015 collections. Headlined by the season’s most coveted designer and contemporary labels, the Bloomingdale’s-Dubai Spring/Summer 2015 Fashion Show was quite the spectacle, complete with dramatic, high flying aerialists, costumed stilt walkers, carnival games and circus-themed treats.

Sheikh Saeed Hall 1 in the Dubai World Trade Centre was transformed into ‘Bloomie’s Big Top’ complete with draped lighting to echo the inside of a tent and a custom, black and white circular catwalk.

The show kicked off in the presence of over 300 guests as over 30 models emerged on the circular in gravity-defying stilettos (Le Silla, Giuseppe Zanotti, Casadei, Lanvin, Sophia Webster) and Spring/Summer must-haves juxtaposing fashion and fun, all while highlighting the season’s biggest trends including:

Hot and Playful featured flashy numbers from Moschino, Les Benjamins, McQ Alexander McQueen, Burberry Brit.

Bohemian and Denim, highlighted softer silhouettes, cropped pants and whispers of white accented with ruffles and lace for womenswear from the likes of Sass & Bide, Alexis, 3.1 Phillip Lim. Guys doubled up on distressed denim from new brand in-store, Dsquared2 and gave a nod to the tailored athlete in luxe leather sweatpants and striped sweaters and bombers.

The Print Crazy segment boasted colorful floral prints from Givenchy, stripes from MSGM and ISSA, and played on animal instincts with a bold motorcycle jacket from Moschino Cheap & Chic and a flirty dress from Fausto Puglisi. In menswear, it was back to nature in a full Valentino look spotlighting army green trousers and a butterfly print windbreaker and polo while a Givenchy look closed the segment with a dark mix of plaid and paisley print.

Plain meets Prints came into play with crop tops and skirts from Elizabeth and James, form fitting dresses from Alexander Wang. Other brands highlighted in this segment included Diane Von Furstenberg, Victoria Beckham, Paul Smith and Alexander McQueen.

As a finale, sparkling and embellished evening gowns and designer wear made for an encore presentation for Glamorous, featuring the likes of luxe labels, Mary Katrantzou, Alice + Olivia, Jenny Packham, Monique Lhuillier, and Zuhair Murad. The showstopper, a model poised in a tiered Reem Acra, was accessorized with two oversized balloons and a bespoke top hat.

In keeping with the show’s theme and a flair for the theatrics, makeup looks for the show were created exclusively by Illamasqua, complete with glittering red pouts, rosy cheeks and dramatic doll eyes. Manes were coiffed into retro-glam up-dos and complemented with miniature top hats and hair pieces.

After a fashionable dose of the season’s hottest trends, guests mingled as DJ Emir played a contemporary mix of rock, hip-hop and R&B.
