Celebrating Mexico’s famous Día de los Muertos festival, El Sombrero restaurant at Sheraton Abu Dhabi Hotel & Resort has launched its plans to mark this special date.
Día de los Muertos - the Day of the Dead - honours deceased friends and family members with lively festivities and parades all across Mexico. Similarly to Halloween, guests are invited to dress up in skeleton costumes and skull masks as the restaurant will have rewards for the best dressed attendees.
Promising a night to remember, you can soak up the sizzling atmosphere and delight in great Mexican flavours. In addition to the traditional favourites such as first-rate steaks, great fajitas, tacos, chimichangas and enchiladas, Chef Froylan Lara from Mexico is preparing some celebratory dishes for the menu.
Try these special creations and you will be in gastro heaven: Gorditas de Frijol (corn masa stuffed with beans and beef), Alitas de Pollo al Pibil (chicken wings with traditional pibil marinade and pickled onions), Pollo con Mole (chicken served with one of the most distinctive Mexican sauces made from chilies, nuts and chocolate) as well as Pastel Azteca (baked tortilla cake filled with tomato salsa, roasted peppers, corn, roast chicken, sour cream and cheese).
To round off your night, El Sombrero also offers an impressive Margarita selection with 15 different flavours.
Playing lively salsa, mambo and merengue rhythms, El Sombrero’s popular Latin trio from Columbia will liven up the festivities and take you to the dance floor until the small hours.
