There’s a new palace opening up on the Palm Jumeirah and you don’t have to be royalty to get through its illustrious doors. The Emerald Palace Kempinski Dubai is sited on the West Crescent of the Palm Jumeirah. The 100,000 square metre property will have 389 rooms and suites. The rooms begin from 65 square metres in size. For those who want to go all out, there are also eight four-bedroom beach villas which have their own Jacuzzi, swimming pool, spa and hammam. We met with Sebastien Mariette, Managing Director of Emerald Palace Kempinski Dubai and talk about the upcoming and anticipated opening of this luxurious resort with European charm.
Kempinski Hotels launches Emerald Palace Kempinski Dubai this year. Please tell us more about this property.
This luxurious hotel aims to evoke the great European palaces of the past by an intriguing design: From the grand atrium flanked by towering marble columns to crystal chandeliers and expansive public spaces, opulent interiors leave the modern world behind. Inspired by imperial celebrations of the 18th century, the ballroom – with walls edged in hand-painted gold leaf - comes complete with imposing foyer, outdoor terrace and dual views across the Arabian Gulf and Palm Lagoon. With 389 rooms and suites, eight world-class restaurants and bars, 3,000sqm Cinq Mondes Spa, state-of-the-art fitness centre and yoga studio, 500m private white sand beach and 80-seat private cinema, Emerald Palace Kempinski Dubai provides a gateway into palatial living.
It will be opened by September 2018? What should your guest expect?
Indeed, September-October 2018. We aim to offer a combination of timeless opulence and world-class luxury to guests visiting Dubai, guaranteed to create unforgettable memories. In fact, the UAE is a compelling country full of rich culture, diverse landscapes and unique attractions, making it a must-visit destination for tourists from around the world.
What about the dining experience?
Eight world-class restaurants and bars ensure that Emerald Palace Kempinski becomes a dining destination – starting with Mix, the first UAE restaurant by world-renowned three Michelin-starred chef Alain Ducasse. For Italian cuisine aficionados, China Grill Management brings New York’s chic Italian restaurant concept All’onda to Dubai, while the Dogus Group’s Il Riccio serves superlative seafood focusing on recipes from Campania. Contemporary pan-Asian steakhouse Enso gives premium steak cuts an oriental twist and NiDaLa, a boho-chic bar and lounge, blends innovative cocktails prepared by expert mixologists with a boheme atmosphere. Finalising the culinary journey, Kempinski will operate a European all-day dining restaurant, lobby lounge serving haute French cuisine, pool & beach bar and private dining.
