A Schengen visa can rise in price twice

The ambassadors of the European Union approved a mandate to commence negotiations on amending the visa code. Now, the mechanisms for effective migration management will discuss with the European Parliament, reports the Chronicle.info with reference on the Facts.

“The new rules of registration of visas will give us another tool to respond to actions of third countries that do not want to take back its citizens,” cited on the website of the European Council statement the Minister of internal Affairs of Bulgaria Valentina Radeva.

As a lever of pressure on countries not cooperating in the return of their illegal migrants, plans to use visa policy. As for legal travelers, it is proposed to allow them to apply for a Schengen visa for six months, but not later than 15 days before the trip, and provide them the opportunity to complete and sign forms for obtaining permits in electronic form.

But the cost of the Schengen want to increase to 80 euros. It is proposed to introduce a mechanism for a review of the amount of the visa fee every three years.
