For the 2018 FIFA World CupTM Russia, Louis Vuitton has designed a stunning new Travel Case to protect the world-renowned FIFA World CupTM Original Trophy, which is to be awarded to the winning national team on July 15th 2018.
On Sunday, July 15th, at 4:45 CET right before the kick-off of the final match, Russian Supermodel, Activist, and Philanthropist Natalia Vodianova and FIFA Legend Philipp Lahm will arrive on the pitch of Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow with the FIFA World CupTM Original Trophy in the newly designed case.
Natalia Vodianova is proud to present this exceptional object specially designed for 2018 FIFA World Cup RussiaTM. She comments: “The people of Russia have been very excited to host the FIFA World Cup. I am proud to represent my country today and the dream the FIFA World Cup Original Trophy represents.”
Philipp Lahm, legendary German footballer and captain of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brasil™ winning team, will escort, alongside Natalia Vodianova, the FIFA World CupTM Original Trophy and trophy case to the pitch of Luzhniki Stadium.
The celebrated FIFA World CupTM Original Trophy measures 36 cm in height, weighs 6.175 kg and is made of solid 18-carat gold with a base of semi-precious malachite. To accommodate this prestigious prize, Louis Vuitton has produced a special-order travel case – handmade by master craftsmen at the historic Asnières workshop near Paris. The case created for Russia is covered in beautiful, lightweight yet hardwearing, laser-engraved Monogram Titanium. The trunk’s eight corners are protected with the House’s celebrated natural cowhide leather, and the lock and six clasps are made in ruthenium, a strong dark-grey metal, which has the chemical symbol Ru and was named after this year’s FIFA World CupTM host.
