Franck Muller Releases New Vanguard watches for men and women

The men’s piece is the Vanguard World Timer GMT. A raised sunray brushed world map is on the center of the dial. It references the major cities for each of the 24 time zones through a 24-hour disc that includes a day/night indicator. It displays the hours, minutes and seconds along with a separate GMT hand with red arrow that points to the time in a second time zone. A three-position crown and separate push button operate the functions of the watch. The tourneau shaped 18k rose gold and stainless steel case measures an extra-large 53.70 mm width, 44 mm length and 14.50 mm height.

The timepiece is powered by an automatic movement with a 42-hour power reserve.

For the women, Franck Muller designed the Vanguard Heart Skeleton, a skeletonized watch with a heart motif.

The tourneau shaped 18k rose gold case has an openworked dial that features seven red-lined hearts that are integral to the function of the various components of the movement. The skeletonized hearts and movement are created in 18k rose gold. Hours, minutes and small seconds hand at 6 o’clock are operated by a two-position crown.

The watch is powered by a hand-wound mechanical movement with a four-day power reserve. It is available in a 32 mm and 35 mm size.

The two watches were among several Franck Muller timepieces introduced a month ago at an annual event by the watch brand, known as the World Presentation of Haute Horlogerie. It was held at the Franck Muller headquarters, “Watchland,” in Genthod, just outside Geneva. The other big release at the event was the 15 anniversary model of the Crazy Hours timpepiece.

Franck Muller founded his eponymous watch brand in 1992 with fine watchmaking specialist, Vartan Sirmakes. The brand has filed 50 patents and currently runs 48 exclusive boutiques around the world, along with seven production sites in Switzerland.
