Limited and numbered to just 10 pieces, renowned French brand Chanel’s J12 Joaillerie watch is a bewitching ode to time. It flaunts an 18k white gold and high tech ceramic case available in 38 or 33mm diameters housing an automatic movement. Its intricately designed dial is set with 84 baguette cut diamonds totaling 2 carats and 12 ruby indexes, while it bezel is set with 46 baguette-cut black ceramic. Arranged in concentric circles, it rivets our vision to the heart of the timepiece and also sports a cabochon crown in ruby. The watch is perfectly matched by a triple-folding buckle in 18k white gold.
Chopard's entirely hand-crafted L.U.C range of watches, named after the initials of the luxury watch and jewelry house's illustrious founder Louis-Ulysse Chopard, introduced in 1996 with their own L.U.C 1.96 movement. The new L.U.C 10 CF chronograph calibre has three patents pending and utilizes integrated column-wheel chronograph movement with flyback function. It has a black alligator leather bracelet, is water resistant up to 30 meters and comes in only 500 pieces. L.U.C watches are chronometer-certified by the COSC (apart from the L.U.C XP which bears no seconds hand) and many of them also bear the prestigious Poinçon de Genève quality hallmark.
The new Bulgari Daniel Roth Papillon Voyageur is an exclusive Haute Horlogerie timepiece with an essential feature for travellers: a second time zone. Graduated over 24 hours, the local hour appears in a vertical window at 12 o'clock by means of a jumping display. The second time zone is indicated by a central, openwork hand that sweeps a guilloché disc, also graduated over 24 hours. Two independent and pivoting hands move across two 180° segments in turn. The 99-piece limited series houses the movement Automatic, DR1307 calibre with 28,800 vib/h, "Côtes de Genève" motif, chamfered and hand-polished bridges with 45-hour power reserve. It is matched by a brown alligator strap.
Omega’s handcrafted Skeleton Central Tourbillon Co-Axial Platinum Limited Edition is the ultimate expression of the watchmaker’s art. It is the only brand ever to have created an automatic central Tourbillon. Its titanium cage rotates completely every 60 seconds, offsetting the effect of gravity on its performance. The movement has a luxurious sun-brushed and circular graining finish and its bridges and mechanisms are hand polished. It is equipped with a Breguet balance spring. The Central Tourbillon’s hands, gold metalized onto sapphire crystal disks appear to float freely above the movement.
Famed Swiss luxury brand Piaget, dedicates its latest Dragon and the Phoenix collection to the Chinese New Year. It brings together the brand’s 40 professions and mastery in all the watchmaking arts, uneling more than 20 handcrafted models. Gem-setting of diamonds in a technique resembling snow-setting, in addition to Grand Feu and Cloisonne enamel work lend the models a refined touch. Well known Italian brand Versace’s chronograph, “Character” reinterpretes a watch successfully launched in 2000. The restyled hands and new applied baton markers define its looks with a background having diamond shaped texturing. The three subsidiary dials, the date panel positioned at 4 o’clock, and the Medusa head at 12 o’clock add character. The tonneau case in IPRG steel is fitted with a strap, in either steel or leather, with butterfly fastening and it is guaranteed to be waterproof to 3 atm.
In 2012, acclaimed Swiss watchmaker Zenith unveils the El Primero Chronomaster Open Grande Date Moon and Sunphase model in two new rose gold and steel versions. In addition to the chronograph, which measures 1/10th of a second, Calibre 4047 also indicates the hours, minutes, small seconds at 9 o’clock, large date at 2 o’clock – by means of two concentric discs - as well as displaying the moon and sunphases at 6 o’clock, a poetic complication specific to Zenith. Representing Zenith Manufacture’s emblematic signature, the dial opening onto the beating heart of the movement reveals the regulating organ and its high frequency vibrations. It has a 45mm case with round pushbuttons and water resistance to 50m and is fitted with a brown alligator strap.
In the forefront of haute horlogerie since 1791, Girard-Perregaux’s 1966 Chronograph offers a stylish take on traditional watchmaking. It has a 40mm case in either pink gold or white gold housing a traditional column-wheel chronograph developed and produced within the Manufacture with a 30-minute counter and central second hand. It can be appreciated via a transparent case-back. The easy-to-read function displays create a perfect balance, while the tachometric scale running around the edge of the dial reinforces the model's character. High-end Swiss luxury watch brand Jaeger-LeCoultre, recently created a special limited engraved design of its iconic Reverso watch the Grande Reverso Ultra-Thin Tribute for the award-winning AMC series “Mad Men” in 25e numbered pieces presented in a custom-designed walnut commemorative box along with a copy of Roger Sterling’s book “Sterling’s Gold.” It was in 1931 that a technically advanced watch was developed for polo players with a dial that could flip, protecting it from damage while also offering a personalized engraved case-back. Protected by patent, it has evolved over 80 years with new faces and complications.
Renowned Swiss watchmaker Patek Philippe’s Annual Calendar Chronograph in platinum with a matt blue sunburst dial combines two of the most popular horological complications. It is one of the famous brand’s best sellers since it was launched in 2006. With its column- wheel mechanism, the CH 28-520 IRM QA 24H manufacture movement, developed and crafted entirely in-house, it relies on the classic chronograph control concept. It features a horizontal disk clutch and is self-winding and can be admired through the screwed-in sapphire crystal caseback.
The classic Longines Saint-Imier Collection is inspired by the watchmaking traditions of its place of origin, where it has been established since 1832. This 39 mm chronograph is equipped with the L688 column-wheel chronograph movement exclusively developed and produced for Longines by ETA with 28,800 vph and 54-hour power reserve. Its steel and pink gold case is fitted with a silver-toned dial with 12 o’clock Arabic numeral and 8 applied hourmarkers and a date window at 4.30.
Hailed Swiss brand Perrelet’s smart new Seacraft has a steel case with a 4 mm thick sapphire crystal as well as a stamped, screw-down back for 777m water resistance. An automatic helium valve appearing at 9 o’clock compensates the effects of decompression on the interior of the watch, ensuring smooth running of automatic Calibre P-281 with a power reserve of 40 hours. Available in a choice of white, black or blue, the dial has applied hour-markers coated with a luminescent substance for visibility. Fitted with an alligator leather strap or a brushed steel bracelet, it is also delivered with a high-tech nylon strap suitable for extreme sporting conditions. It comes in three different versions: chronograph, 3 hands-date and GMT.
Going back to 1846, Swiss watchmaker Ulysse Nardin’s Moonstruck is a practical travelling companion: its 46mm case features a pointer calendar and a quick setting device to adjust the hour hand forward and backward to any desired time zone by pressing the pushers plus and minus located at 8 and 10 o’clock. Its mother-of-pearl dial has a hand painted earth. An Ulysse Nardin in-house development, the manufacture caliber UN 106 features a silicium escapement offering power reserve of approximately 50 hours. It also illustrates the current tidal status and trend in relation to specific coastlines or oceans and is available in a limited edition of 500 pieces in 18k red gold and 500 pieces in platinum matched by an alligator leather strap.
Vacheron Constantin’s Historiques Aronde 1954 with its original rectangular case is inspired by a model created during the effervescent post-war years. Its guilloché dial is a tribute to the traditional Métiers d’Art and it is produced in limited numbers. It has a 44.55 mm pink gold case, an opaline silvered dial adorned with a finely hand-guilloché motif. It enshrines the Calibre 1400 AS, a mechanical hand-wound movement developed and manufactured in-house by the brand. Its balance oscillates at 28,800 vibrations per hour, and it has a 40-hour power reserve. It bears the prestigious Hallmark of Geneva drives displays of the hours, the minute, as well as small seconds.
Celebrating the sophisticated elegance and the rich cultural heritage of St Petersburg, Montblanc presents a handcrafted collection of delicate beauty made of six one-of-a-kind pieces. Cartier’s legendary and stylish Baignoire watch has a streamlined silhouette with a perfect oval face. First presented in 1912, it revisits the brand’s aesthetic codes, such as the straightness of the Roman numerals, long flowing lines and a dotted rail-track detail on the dial.
