Global Village will begin its 21st season on 1 Nov. 2016, the management of the popular family leisure destination announced on Saturday.
Preparations for the next season, which is set to last for 159 days until 8 April 2017, have already begun.
The annual attraction completed a record breaking 20th anniversary season, welcoming 5.3 million guests. This year, Global Village also received a score of 9 out of 10 in its annual Guest Happiness Index that uses a range of parameters to judge satisfaction levels across a wide range of touch points for the visitor experience.
According to the survey, guests are also spending more time during each visit, with an average time of five hours, encouraged by the greater focus on entertainment last season that saw over 13,000 shows. This helped generate a ranking of 9.1 out of 10 in relation to the impact of the enormous range and variety of shows on offer.
Rankings for the visitor’s experience of thrill rides rated Fantasy Island at 8.7, with the score for the overall variety of the pavilion experience and their variety reaching 8.9.
Commenting on the findings, Global Village’s CEO Ahmad Hussain Bin Eisa said: “We are delighted with the achievements of Global Village’s 20th season, the high rates recorded by Global Village on the performance indicators and the Guest Happiness Index are compatible with our aspirations to offer our guests a remarkable and unique experience that combines the best of services, shopping, entertainment and international cuisine experiences.”
Eating out remains a hugely popular pastime for Global Village guests who can enjoy a variety of food outlets including 20 restaurants and cafés and 100 kiosks serving cuisines from all across the world — and this led to guests ranking Global Village 9.2 on its overall food experience.
UAE residents continue to dominate the visitor profile of Global Village, with around 75 per cent of the visitors being UAE residents.
