The Great Wall Awaits Your Visit!

14^th December 2016, “Beautiful China – A Great Journey along the Great Wall” was inaugurated by China National Tourism Administration in Park Hyatt Dubai. This witnesses the first tourism promotion in Gulf States by official tourism department of China.

Ms. Liu Xiao Hui, Director of China National Tourism Administration Singapore Office and H.E. Li Lingbing, Consul-General of the People’s Republic of China in Dubai and other representatives from Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, Sharjah Tourism and RAK Tourism and local travel operators attended the press conference.

Ms. Liu Xiao Hui, the Director of China National Tourism Administration Singapore Office, on behalf of China National Tourism Administration, welcomes more tourists from UAE exploring, visiting and climbing the Great Wall to be a hero in China.

H.E. Li Lingbing, the Consul-General of the People’s Republic of China in Dubai, wishes the tourism industry from China and the United Arab Emirates can work together to push the tourism cooperation to a new height.

In recent years, China tourism has seen a rapid increase and achieved remarkable success. In the first half of 2016, inbound tourist number exceeds 67 million with an increase of 3.8%; outbound tourist number exceeds 59 million with an increase of 4.3%; to achieve international tourism revenue of $57 billion, with an increase of 5.3%.

The Gulf area is the converging point of Belt and Road, which means that the Land Silk Road and the Maritime Silk Road are joining here. The President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping's state visit to Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Iran in January this year reflects the growing importance of the Gulf States to China. China and the United Arab Emirates have also been maintaining friendly relations. The two sides had maritime trade as early as seventh century.

Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1984, the friendly cooperation between the two countries has developed smoothly. Sino-Arab relation presents a comprehensive and rapid development trend in recent years. With the establishment of a strategic partnership between two countries in 2012, increasing political mutual trust and economic and trade cooperation have achieved remarkable results.

The Great Wall is the ancient Chinese military defense project, and the Chinese people building the Great Wall's history dated back to 2000 years ago. The Great Wall we see today is mostly built in the Ming Dynasty, dating back to 600 years ago. As the essence and "name card" of Chinese tourism, the Great Wall attracts countless Chinese and foreign visitors at all times and in all countries.

The Great Wall is the crystallization of diligence and wisdom of the Chinese nation, the treasure of China, the wonder of the world, and the miracle of mankind. It is like a dragon through time and space, through the vicissitudes of life, and stretching over one hundred thousand miles, accompanying and witnessing the rise and fall of the Chinese society and changes of honor and disgrace.

A series of attractions such as the majestic Badaling, steep Juyongguan, beautiful Mutianyu, and spectacular Jiayuguan are representatives of the Great Wall tourist routes and the essence of the Great Wall tourism.

"He who has never been to the Great Wall is not a real man", the ancient military defense facilities in contemporary is given the meaning of courage and perseverance.
