Tucked away in one of JLT’s most popular hotels, Couqley opened its doors on
June 2nd. Seating around 150 patrons, this trendy French bistro has opened after
two of its branches in Lebanon saw plenty of success over the past 8 years.
Named after its esteemed French chef, Alexis Couquelet, the food is nothing
short of the strong reputation it has made over the last decade. Inspired by his
grandfather’s dishes and his love for French food, Alexis has made sure each
dish is cooked to his standard.
The bistros must-trys are the onion soup, Couqley and Chèvre Chaud salads, its
famous mains – the Côte de Boeuf and Steak Frites, as well as the ever so
delicious Pain Perdu. The long delicate selection of international wines and craft
beers are all reasonably priced with wine bottles starting at AED 95.
Couqley's design is warm and reminiscent of 1950’s artisan workshops of Paris;
its interior design inspired by the original bistros of France and features hand-cut
mosaic stone floors, white marble and cast zinc bars and charming indoor terrace
seating.
Couqley is located at the lake level of Laguna Tower, Mövenpick Hotel, Cluster
A, Jumeirah Lake Towers, Dubai. Opening hours are 12PM to 2AM every day.
