Dubai Land Department (DLD) has announced its participation at the Dubai Property Show – Shanghai, which will be held from the 24th to 26th March 2017 at the prestigious Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center.
DLD will participate through its investment arm – Real Estate Investment Management and Promotion Center – and use the event as a platform for highlighting Dubai’s leading position among the world’s top investment destinations. The show will allow the department to provide potential Chinese investors with attractive real estate opportunities, as well as valuable insights into the Emirate’s property market.
The Shanghai edition of the Dubai Property Show follows the massive success of the Dubai Real Estate Exhibition in Mumbai, which took place last December, and other shows hosted in major global destinations including London and Hong Kong. The event organisers – Sumansa – expect the Shanghai event to build on these successes and grow the show’s global scope, especially as Chinese investors are among the top 10 nationalities demonstrating a high demand for Dubai real estate investments.
Her Excellency Majida Ali Rashid, Assistant Director General and Head of Real Estate Investment Management and Promotion Center at DLD, commented: "Over the last few years we have witnessed a marked increase in demand from Chinese investors, who are eager to invest in Dubai property. This is confirmed by DLD’s data base, which shows that over the last four years, Chinese investors have pumped over AED 10 billion into Dubai’s real estate market. The show offers us a unique chance to meet potential investors in their homeland and share the attractive investment opportunities that Dubai offers.”
Majida Ali Rashid added: “Our participation at the event reflects our commitment to supporting the developers and indeed all professionals working in this sector. Our vision is to make Dubai’s real estate market the world leader in innovation, trust and happiness, and during these events we collect our efforts to achieve this one objective by highlighting Dubai as a regional hub that attracts pioneers in the commercial, financial and tourism sectors thanks to its outstanding infrastructure, exceptional business opportunities and real estate excellence.”
The Dubai Property Show gives developers and exhibitors an opportunity to meet buyers directly and introduce them to Dubai’s unique investment opportunities. It is expected to attract the attendance of individuals from private equity funds, companies and investment funds.
China enjoys strong trade relations with Dubai and the UAE, and Dubai now counts 253,000 Chinese nationals among its resident population. Chinese tourism to Dubai is also growing rapidly; with over 100 weekly flights linking Dubai with 13 Chinese cities, Dubai received 450,000 Chinese tourists in 2015.
